Ciudad La Plata gets 2 top of the range stadia (I)

Reconstruction of Estadio Único, La Plata, Argentina.
8 years after the official inauguration in February 2011, the pitch in the multi-purpose stadium located in the city of La Plata, Argentina has been reconstructed. Two techniques were combined giving the stadium a pitch worthy of the name "Unique Stadium":
- PlayMaster is a carpet-based hybrid grass technology by Tarkett Sports. Read more here.
- TerraCottem Universal was applied at 100g/m². Total area of the pitch is 7350m².
In Spring 2019 the new pitch was seeded: the first match was played just 23 days after seeding, almost 2 weeks earlier than estimated.
Alfredo Schappi, responsible for the stadium’s pitch commented:
"The speed of the rooting was the main reason to use TerraCottem. We saw an excellent germination and reaction to the fertilization. Estadio Único is a closed stadium with little light and air. The TerraCottem treated grass reacts better to the foliar feed."
