In 2016-2017, the market square of Oudenaarde was redesigned. The objective was to restore its historical function and to turn it back into a pleasant and much-visited public space. The makeover ended with the planting of 25 indigenous trees. 3 years after planting, these trees now characterize the renewed city center.
Planting trees on top of an underground parking garage

In December 2017, multi-trunk robinia trees were planted at De Munt (Roeselare, Belgium), on top of an underground car park, to create more "volume" on the square. Almost 3 years after planting, the trees develop optimally thanks to a specially selected tree substrate including TerraCottem soil conditioner.
TerraCottem acts as a life insurance policy for the plants. It not only saves replacement work and costs caused by plant mortality but helps achieve a mature planting faster.
"A visitor to a garden sees the successes, usually. The gardener remembers mistakes and losses, some for a long time, and imagines the garden in a year, and in an unimaginable future."
